What to Wear: Texas vs. Ole Miss Game Day

It's here! The first Friday of the month. Which means, the fabulous Tori Klem is guest blogging! Read her outfit ideas for the Ole Miss game below!

Keep your Ash jerseys hanging up for our next home game, because we Longhorns cannot disappoint our game day gear when the Ole Miss Rebels come to town.  Last year, we got to play Ole Miss in their home turf (what a game!), tailgate at the Grove and see firsthand how the SEC takes game day fashion to the next level. The ladies wear dresses, heels and badges while the men looked charming in bowties and button downs.

So, why not join this dressier tailgate tradition?  With the help of some burnt orange staples at Longhorn Fashions, I think all Longhorn ladies at least can find quite a few cool, chic outfits to wear for game day on September 14, 2013.

We all know if weather for Ole Miss matchup is as hot as our kickoff game, it will be a sauna outside.  That said, I tried to pick an element of white (aka, not showing sweat stains) for each of the fun outfits.

A Dress to Impress: This backless, breezy dress is a must for any game in the next few months.  It’s a flirty style, and the material is SO cool that it feels like you’re hardly wearing anything.   For Ole Miss, I wanted to style it up a little bit with the burnt orange Kendra Scott Skylar earrings and some nude wedges.

Austin Boho Chic: If you’re watching the game indoors, this outfit is for you.  The white embroidered top provides the perfect amount of openness so you don’t sweat to death and looks perfect styled with a burnt orange statement necklace.  If you’re tailgating and watching the game outside, swap out these burnt orange skinnies for some shorts and you’re golden.

Gatsby Gal: It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the details on this 1920s inspired top are so intricate and feminine! Dazzle and stand out during the Ole Miss Game, with this outfit.  We love this outfit because it’s unlike anything someone may normally wear heading into DKR.   It’s key that if you do decide to swap boots for heels that you wear wedges or thick heels! Thin heels will leave you teeter-tottering all over the dirty, rocky tailgate ground.

Figure Flattering Flare: I’m on team peplum in life, and especially on game day.  This Peplum top gives wiggle room around your stomach if you drink a few too many beers and feel bloated. This outfit is so figure flattering – the top nips in at your waist and then flares out gorgeously; the straight skirt plays up your legs.

Which outfits do you like best?  Do you have any other cute combos you’ll be wearing?  Ditch the t-shirts and jerseys and let’s show Ole Miss why Texan girls are cuter .

Burnt Orange Mini Skirt Outfit

Burnt Orange Mini Skirt Outfit

The burnt orange mini skirt is back in stock and this beautiful ivory tank with burnt orange trim just arrived, which immediately sent my wheels spinning! Pair these two items with some statement jewelry, like the burnt orange gemstone bracelet and leather strap watch to finish your look. Lastly, slip on the Student Government boots to pull it all together!
