Little Black Dress Obsessed

There's nothing more versatile than a black dress; there's a reason why it's repeatedly listed as a closet must-have in basically any magazine ever written. Black dresses can range from ball gowns to cotton shifts with every level of fanciness in between. Today, we're going to talk about some of our favorites in store and how you can style them!

Let's start with casual, shall we?
Our first coveted black dress is our V-front maxi. We love the detailing in the front of this dress; it makes it a little more interesting than your average scoop neck dress! To make this dress a little more casual, we threw on our favorite denim jacket, crystal necklace, and sandals.  If you want this maxi to be a little more formal or simple, you can wear it with a thin gold or colored belt, dainty jewelry, like our dainty Texas necklace, and heels!

Our next favorite LBD is this darling open back dress! The waistline is reminiscent of a 50's housewife, but the openness in the back modernizes it! The higher waistline is universally flattering and feminine, making it one of our most loved dresses! We love how it looks with our golden beaded necklace, but it's so versatile that you can make it your own with any color jewelry, high heels, booties, or flats!

We may have saved the best for last with this flapper inspired beaded shift! The beading is impeccably intricate and it is impossible to walk by this dress without giving it a second look! The waistline beading resembles a belt, which gives this shift a drop-waist shape a la 1920's! This dress is perfect for a formal event, and can serve double duty as the most chic and least costume-y halloween ensemble around!

These versatile Little Black Dresses are sure to be on frequent rotation in our wardrobes so stop by the store or shop online to see which is your favorite!

Transitioning into Fall!

We don't know about you, but this cold front in Austin is getting us in the fall mood! While we'd love to buy a new wardrobe for every season, we're going to talk about transitioning summer pieces into the cooler months for now.

We love jean jackets. Let's just get that out there. They add an edgy yet earthy vibe to outfits without being too bulky. Here, we threw our Dip Dyed Denim Jacket over a light white top, orange skater skirt and jewel necklace. By throwing on a lightweight jean jacket with a skirt and airy top, your summer outfit becomes fall focused without being too warm or bulky.

We're not ready to say goodbye to our summer dresses. The floral detailing on this hippie-chic dress reminds us of warmer times, while the heavy knit of this sweater has us feeling warm and cozy! By pairing these similar length pieces, both of which are sleeveless, this dress transitions into fall without being too bulky.

Maxi dresses are a staple in our summer wardrobe. Unfortunately, they can consume your frame if you pair them with a sweater or bulky jacket. By putting a jean shirt over your maxi dress, as a pseudo jacket, your can hold on to wearing your maxi dress a little longer and stretch your wardrobe.

During the summer months, we'd pair a maxi skirt with a light tank top to balance out the proportions and keep us cool. As the weather is changing, we're switching out our tank tops for denim shirts to add a little weight to the outfit to keep you warm!

This summery skirt was a staple in our wardrobe the past couple months. We're now pairing it with a light sweater to make it feel a little more autumn appropriate! The natural gem necklace adds a touch of fall to the outfit, reminding us of the changing leaves.

This cold front in Austin has us so excited for the cooler weather.  What pieces are sure to stay in your closet's rotation as the weather cools down? Let us know!

Naturally Accessorized

Things we love at Longhorn Fashions: jewelry and fashion. We also love things like a nice beach day, mimosas, and puppies, but that’s topic for another day! Today’s a jewelry day!

The change in the seasons has us craving jewelry that is earthy and unique! We’re especially loving goldstones, brushed metal, drusy, and agate. These pieces add a naturally beautiful touch of color and sparkle to our wardrobes in a timeless and sophisticated way.

Our favorite way to wear the Sliced Agate jewelry is with bohemian inspired blouses and dresses; the psychedelic patterning perfectly compliments the hippie-chic vibe! With the vibrant burnt orange tones, they perfectly accent a white or light colored garment!

These necklaces are also perfect for layering since they're so long and relatively simple!

These bold agate bracelets make for the perfect rustic yet chic arm party! The metal is industrial yet polished and the neutral colors in the stone will match your other silver, gold, or leather bracelets!

These necklaces are dainty yet elegant, making them a must-have in our wardrobe! They're so unique and interesting, bringing attention up towards your face and neckline, which is always a good thing! They can be worn with a simple white t-shirt or with a fancy black dress. Plus, the outside is lined with gold plating, adding a little bit of elegance to them!

For the outfit that needs a statement ring, this sliced agate piece is ideal! It is bohemian chic with a twist of golden luxury! We love how it looks with a burnt orange dress on game day!

Our drusy jewelry is perfect for the gal that likes a little extra sparkle in her outfit! Our small studs add a subtle amount of glitter that draws attention to the face, while our large pendants create a beautiful statement !

Our white beaded drusy necklace is the perfect combination of sweet and sparkly! The white beads resemble pearls in their elegance and the clasp is reminiscent of a locket! This necklace looks beautiful with white, burnt orange, or black dresses or tops!

Long drusy pendants are the perfect glittery cousin of the sliced agate necklaces; they go with any free-spirited outfit with the addition of a little city skyline shine!

Our goldstone necklaces are quickly becoming one of our favorite ways to add a little burnt orange into our outfits. Whether we're layering the long necklaces with shorter gems or pairing the dainty beaded piece with a plain white t-shirt, we can't get enough of goldstone!

Nothing says rustic like brushed metal. Whether you prefer silver, gold, or bronze these tiny Texas studs are a darling way to show your state pride daily!

We're always looking for new ways to accessorize our favorite outfits with a Texas or burnt orange twist. Natural stones and brushed metal add the perfect color and feel, don't you agree?!
