Maxi Dresses Around the World

I believe fashion is a way to transport yourself to a certain decade or location in the world even when you can't physically be there. Depending on your style, you can pay homage to any decade or culture of your choosing. Plane tickets these days are outrageous so here's your passport at a reasonable and fashionable price!

First stop: Greece

The crisp white and blue print on this maxi dress make us feel like we're sunbathing while eating olives in the Mediterranean.

Layover in: Morocco

We love the mirrored patterns of the lamps on the skirt mixed with the warm neutral tones! This dress makes us feel as though we're walking through a bazaar on a warm summer's night.

Then to: South Africa

The airy feel of this dress is both comfortable and bright. We love how the top mirrors the national flag!

Vacation in: Jamaica

This black and white printed maxi dress with colorful embroidery makes us want to get up and dance! By incorporating the colors of Jamaica, we're ready to be on the beach!

Stopping by: Mexico

We love the aztec print on this dress! Also, how darling is that Mexican apartment?!

Finally: The United States, Savannah

Inspired by Savannah's artsy and beachy culture, this outfit is laid back, comfortable, and lightweight for the summer heat!

The United States: The Grand Canyon

Incorporate the ever present turquoise into your outfit as you mimic the peaks, valleys, and layered rock of the Grand Canyon!

While you're saving up to see the world you can still travel every time you open your closet!

Gifts for Everyone!

Whether you still need a gift for the special girl in your life, or just want to treat yourself or a friend, Longhorn Fashions has the perfect gifts!

We love this rose gold colored heart ring! It is perfect for Valentine's day! I personally love how dainty and delicate it is because it can be worn with any outfit! Who doesn't love something that is universal?

Another great gift idea is this pack of cress less hair ties! The patterns on these ties make them fancier than your average elastic, personalizing the gift! I love using these hair ties when throwing my hair up in a ponytail, and I also use one to hold my key on my wrist since I always lose it! image.jpeg

This dainty love necklace is adorable! It looks beautify with a nice dress or top, but is simple enough to be worn everyday!

These are probably the prettiest statement earrings I've ever seen! They would be perfect for the gal who loves fashion and accessorizing!

These bracelets are adorable! They're perfect for adding color to your outfit, and they give off a great bohemian and laid back vibe! They're perfect for everyday wear and look great layered with other bracelets!

Austin Christmas Bucket List

The wonderful Tori is guest blogging for us today! Read on her for Austin Christmas Bucket List.

It’s the most wonderful time of year here in Austin, and this year, even the weather reflects the time of year (for once)! I couldn’t help but think of all the fun things to do here during winter-time… and I’m sure this list isn’t comprehensive.

In no particular order, your Austin Christmas bucket list.   (Comment if I missed something crucial!)
  • Trail of Lights at Zilker Park
    • Yes, there will be traffic getting there, but spinning under the big tree is worth it!  Zilker even offers zip passes if you want to pay for parking and to be able to “zip” to the front of the line.

  • Coffee at Spider House
    • Why wouldn’t you hit up Spider House and their year-round backyard of lights? It’s one of the most eccentric Austin spots and their awesome outdoor patio space can certainly be enjoyed during Austin’s generally 70-degree winter.

  • Lights on 37th Street
    • Most of the houses on this street, which is right off the Drag in the UT campus area, go above and beyond decorating even with lights strung across the streets from house-to-house.  It’s a must-do.

  • Walk down Congress, enjoying the lights and the view, to Halcyon for s’mores

  • Visit the Capitol and see the Capitol Christmas Tree

  • Go ice skating and drink wine on the Whole Foods rooftop
  • Visit Alamo Drafthouse for any seasonal delight:
    • Master Pancake (if you don’t already know, a Master Pancake event is where the hilarious staff of Alamo makes fun of a popular, embarrassing-to-like movie)
    • Elf, Bad Santa or Christmas Vacation Quote-a-long
    • Christmas Sing-alongs
    • Girlie Night: Love Actually
    • Home Alone Pizza Night
  • Watch the Christmas Light show at Mozarts
    • The amazing light show, which really is reminiscent of a Trans-Siberian Orchestra, happens every night; it starts at 6 pm and runs every hour until they close.

  • See the Nutcracker Ballet at the Long Center
    • There aren’t many opportunities for a gal to get to dress up and be fancy with her friends, so seize this moment! The Nutcracker Ballet is an incredible story, and always danced beautifully.  Have a few cocktails, see the ballet and end the night with a white elephant gift exchange with your friends.
  • Watch the Longhorns win a bowl game
    • This year, support the Horns at the Alamo Bowl (practically next door in San Antonio) against the Oregon Ducks.  Might I suggest stepping up your tailgate game with the adorable “Ooh La La” tee?  Or, we could overwhelm the Ducks with Texas-pride in the “Y'all” tee?

What to Wear For the Holidays

Not sure what to wear this holiday season? Not a problem! Whether you’re going to a fancy holiday party, or just spending quality time with friends and family, we’ve got you covered!

So you’re invited to a fancy holiday dinner, but you have no idea what to wear! We suggest wearing a basic dress like our Black Wrap Dress since it is so versatile! You can style this dress so many ways, making it your own depending on your shoes and accessories! Add a chunky necklace to draw attention to your face, or add a pop of color to our outfit by wearing red or gold shoes! Regardless of how you dress up this feminine wrap dress, you’re sure to look elegant and polished at any holiday event!

You don’t have big holiday plans? Not a problem! We suggest wearing an oversized sweatshirt or sweater paired with leggings and boots to keep you warm and comfy! These sweaters offer warmth, without sacrificing comfort, which we love! By wearing them with leggings, you can have a second helping of pumpkin pie, we won’t tell!

The holiday season can be stressful, but regardless of what your plans are, Longhorn Fashions has a wide range of outfits to choose from! Remember this holiday season, a smile is your best accessory!
